The USPTO Office of the Chief Economist (OCE) faced significant challenges in processing and analyzing massive patents and trademark datasets. Legacy systems struggled, causing delays in providing timely, data-driven insights impacting innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth.
ADDX partnered with USPTO OCE to transform their data infrastructure and analytical capabilities employing advanced AI/ML techniques. By introducing multi-threading and memory optimization techniques, patent assignment processing times were reduced from days to minutes. Utilizing Jython, we integrated Python programs with Oracle databases, automating data de-duplication and enhancing data accuracy. We also applied semantic web methodologies to support a joint USPTO-Census Bureau project, creating a groundbreaking public-use dataset.
ADDX’s AI/ML solutions revolutionized USPTO’s data capabilities, enabling faster, more accurate patents and trademark datasets. These innovations empowered the OCE delivering actionable insights, advancing intellectual property policy, and driving U.S. invention and economic growth.
